Driving instructor shares tips that could save your life

UPDATE 8AM: THE online Drive Safely campaign will kick off today with a Live Blog session with a driving instructor at 1.30pm.

Rockhampton's Leyland Barnett has agreed to answer readers questions about tips for driving, particularly in dangerous conditions or when something out of the ordinary occurs on the road.

Mr Barnett owns and operates Evolution in Training.

He is a accredited driving instructor with over 10 years experience teaching learners in and around the Rockhampton area how to drive safe and responsible.

"I specialise in providing hands on emergency braking and defensive driver training and material. Training is provided in a patient, friendly manner and I consider my clients needs very carefully. I believe in providing great value for money, with every lesson."

November 28: EVERY life lost on the road is one too many.

Every day you drive on a road, you see examples of dangerous driving and near misses.

With the handful of fatalities across Central Queensland in the past few weeks, including two children at Moranbah, a Drive Safely campaign has been organized for online for December 2-19.

The campaign will feature Live Blog sessions with driving instructor Leyland Barnett, Traffic police officer Senior Sergeant Ewan Findlater, Rocky's Own Transport chief executive officer Bryan Smith and a truck driver from his company.
