Driver nabbed twice in one night

ONE drink-driving charge was not enough for a young man who went back to the pub, had another drink and then got nabbed driving through the same RBT site 15 minutes after his release.

Magistrate Deb Vasta said Joshua Andrew Farrell, 24, showed "astounding stupidity" when he drank and drove twice in under two hours.

He was brought before court yesterday.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens said police conducting breath tests at Gin Gin about 8.25pm on Thursday found Farrell to have a blood-alcohol level of .196%, almost four times over.

The reading meant Farrell's licence was immediately suspended. He was released. But an hour later, different police at the same RBT pulled over Farrell's car to talk about his fog lights ... and ping!

Farrell was fined $4500 and disqualified for three-and-a-half years.
