Drivers to tackle hill finale

GRAFTON Sporting Car Club will hold the fourth and final round of the Hillclimb Championship tomorrow at Mountain View Motor Sport Complex.

Grafton Sporting Car Club has been holding hillclimb events for more than 45 years at its current location, 262 Clarence Way, Mountain View.

This weekend's hillclimb will showcase a variety of vehicles, ranging from open-wheel racing cars to sports sedans, road registered and historic vehicles.

With a field of about 60 cars taking part, the event should make for a good day's motor sport entertainment, with great vantage points from all around the circuit providing excellent viewing and photo opportunities.

Spectators are able to walk through the pit area to view all the vehicles and talk to the drivers.

Notable drivers attending will include locals Dale and Mark Wright in their well-developed Holden Commodore.

Dick Willis completed his 100th run at the Mountain View complex this year and will be back for more action.

John Leslight will be debuting a new sports sedan, along with Graeme Green in his newly acquired Datsun 1600.

Ballina regulars Bill and Jenni Heuchmer, in their Toyota Corolla, will go up against Steve Sauer in the 3J Club Car class.

The club invites anyone interested in motor sport to attend tomorrow. Admission is free and full canteen facilities are available.
