Drivers wanted for demolition derby
Grafton Speedway and David Lander are offering up the job of a lifetime. In fact, there is no easier way of picking up $2000 for half an hour work.
The only job requirement is a skill for demolition, destruction, crashing and smashing.
Previous experience and ability in dealing with a precision for collision is a distinct advantage.
These are the work mandates for applicants eligible to fill a position in the field of the richest demolition derby ever held in Australian speedway - and it is happening at Hessions Auto Grafton Speedway on October 28.
Time is running out to file a nomination form to prepare a car for the ultimate mechanical bull fight to the finish.
There is a $500 prize for the 'most spectacular' driver in the derby.
This event has certainly caught the attention of the local speedway community and it promises to be an exciting, spectacular contest.
There is also bragging rights to be the best demolition derby driver in New South Wales as the event doubles for the annual state championships.
The countdown is well and truly on for the NSW Demolition Derby Championship and local promoter David Lander is hoping a good field will be on hand to go at it for 30 minutes of mayhem.
"I cannot recall a demolition derby in speedway here paying $2000 to the winner,” he said. "I want to make this a night that will be enjoyable for the whole family as everyone likes a demolition derby.”
For the strict rev heads who want to get their regular speedway racing fix, there will also be a full program with a variety of car divisions in action.
To nominate for the derby, call (02) 66212733 or 0408222908 to secure a set of safety regulations required for entry before heading online to receive your nomination form at the Grafton Speedway website.
