Earthquake strikes Papua New Guinea

AN EARTHQUAKE has struck on the north-eastern coast of Papua New Guinea 64km from the town of Finschhafen.

The earthquake registered a magnitude of 6.0 according the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, and is the second quake to strike in the past two days.

The latest quake struck about 12.50pm Queensland time.
