Easter fun at gallery

FAMILIES looking for something a little different to do in the Easter holidays are invited to the Grafton Regional Gallery.

Leading this Easter's schedule of activities at the gallery is Sky Journals, a creative kids' workshop on Thursday, April 19.

Open to kids aged between five to 12 years, the workshop will run alongside the Way of the Sky exhibition currently on show.

Participants will create a painted canvas board cover and art journal inspired by the big blue sky, perfect for documenting all sorts of adventures.

Cost for the workshop is $16.50, which includes all materials and morning or afternoon tea depending on the session. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 6642 3177.

Also sure to delight the young and young at heart is the giant metal chair sculpture created by Keith Cameron, which has been installed in the courtyard.

The school holidays also herald the return of the gallery's popular Jacaranda Activity Trail where children are invited to explore the gallery and the exhibitions looking for clues - a reward is on offer.

For more information, sign up to the Creative Kids e-list via graftongallery.nsw.gov.au or contact the gallery, Tuesday to Sunday.
