Education to help in emergency situations

IN an emergency situation knowing how to use a defibrillator could possibly save a life.

That is why the Maclean Lions Club will host a demonstration night on how to use a defibrillator on Wednesday, March 16.

All members of the Maclean Chamber of Commerce and their partners are invited to attend the demonstration which will be overseen by members of the local fire brigade at the Maclean Bowling Club.

The purpose of the event is to show participants how and when to use a defibrillator like the one Lions Club members have supplied and installed at the Strand Arcade.

The defibrillator has been provided to assist in the event someone suffers a heart attack while in the Maclean CBD.

Members who attend the demonstration are also welcome to have a meal at the bowls club after the event. Members who wish to do this are asked to place their order at the menu desk prior to the demonstration.

The demonstration at the bowls club is scheduled to commence at approximately 6.30pm.
