Eight charged over Surfers Paradise fight all from NSW

POLICE have charged eight New South Wales men  following an incident on the Esplanade, Surfers Paradise in the early hours of Monday.

Police responded to reports of a fight occurring on the Esplanade at 3.10am, and on arrival officers have taken twelve men into custody.

Four men were detained but then released, and eight men have been charged.

No one was seriously injured during the incident.

The eight New South Wales men, all between the ages of 17 and 20, have been charged with affray and various obstruct police and assault charges.

They are all due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 21 next year.
