Eisteddfod stars take the stage
COLOURFUL costumes and big smiles filled the stage at a Grafton eisteddfod yesterday as the under-10 years dance competitors fought for first place.
Eisteddfod organiser Dianne Welch was busy out the front making sure everything went smoothly.
“It has been a good day so far,” she said.
Yesterday's sections included contemporary, ballet and jazz solos, duo and trio dance groups, as well the tap solo section.
Dance teacher Ashley Molloy had been having a successful day with one of her students, Joshua Price, coming first in his solo song and dance section.
“It has been a great day, the kids are having a great time,” she said.
Saturday was the opening day of the annual event with competitors from all fields of dance.
The group dance section was held on Sunday with a great audience turnout, there were group dances from many local dance studios, including Studio 1 Academy of Dance and Clarence River Dance Academy.
The eisteddfod is being held at South Grafton High School until Friday and will showcase many young dance competitors in ballet, jazz, tap and Irish dance sections.
