Elimination meltdown: Jules Allen exits MasterChef
JULES Allen wants to assure MasterChef viewers she's doing fine after her traumatic elimination tonight.
The mum-of-four joked that having to relive her disastrous performance in the kitchen would cause her to curl up in the fetal position.
"It was a disaster from start to finish but it made good telly, at my expense," she said.
Allen had to face-off against Rishi Desai and Samira El Khafir in an auction where the home cooks sacrificed cooking time to secure key ingredients.
"I am so bad at auctions," Allen said.
"Somehow I ended up with 30 minutes, a massive crayfish, yoghurt and a bowl of Asian vegetables.
"I knew straight up it would take a miracle for me to come out of that, I didn't go out without a fight."
But after her failed fish cake burgers with rice buns landed her team in the elimination cook-off, Allen said she wouldn't have felt right sending someone else home.
"I was the one who put us into elimination, so as much as I fought and it was devastating it felt right," she said.
"It was ok to go out the way I went out. It felt fair."
Back home in Lennox Head with her four children, Allen is working on a project that will combine her love of food with charity work.
"I struggled with my sense of purpose with MasterChef," she said.,
"When I tie it into charities I get it… I want to incorporate food and charity on a big scale.
"You'll have to wait and see It will be big, I promise that much."
