Showgirl Emma loves country life

A COUNTRY girl through and through, Emma Joseph has been drawn into the show ring and has nominated for the 2011 Grafton Showgirl title.

The 19-year-old from Pillar Valley says she has lived in the area for seven years and couldn’t imagine she would enjoy living in a more densely populated area.

“My sister used to live in Cairns and I think that is the most city I could handle. She lives in Sydney now and I just hate it. It is too stressful and high-strung,” she said.

“I think that you only live once and you may as well enjoy it, and I enjoy the easy- going life that the country provides. I can’t ever see myself living in a big city.”

Emma is currently studying to be a vet nurse and hopes to use her trade to stay in the country.

“I am working one day a week at the River Bank Animal Hospital and I just love it,” she said.

“I have always loved animals and would really love to get back into horse riding.”

Nominating for Grafton Showgirl was something Emma always thought about, but it wasn’t until someone came into her workplace with a nomination form and invited her to join the competition that she decided to enter.

“A few of my sister’s friends have nominated and they all really enjoyed the experience. I have always considered it and I am really happy to be a part of Showgirl this year.”
