Enter, lose and leave a winner
IF YOU need motivation to get into shape, then look no further.
The North Coast Massive Loser competition is designed to help contestants trim down while increasing health, strength and fitness.
Current NSW Under-90kg NSW Strongest Man trophy holder Troy Munro is running the competition to motivate North Coast residents to lose fat and gain muscle mass.
He said unlike other weight-loss competitions, Massive Loser takes out the embarrassment factor.
"No one is going to be embarrassed on Facebook with before and after shots in their underwear," Munro said.
"We're steering away from the embarrassing photos other companies use. It's not about having a six-pack, it's not judged on looks but on how much work you put in.
"It's for anyone that needs motivation. We want everyone to have a fair go."
Shedding pounds is only one component. Contestants will face the Inbody 520 - an accurate body scanner that measures several factors including body fat, skeletal muscle mass and a nutritional evaluation, all in less than one minute.
It gives an overall fitness score as a leverage tool to use as motivation.
"If you put the hard work in, you will be rewarded for it," Munro said.
"Every time you jump on the Inbody scanner you get a full-body analysis.
Fuelled by Mass Nutrition Coffs Harbour, the competition will run for 12 weeks and kicks off with the initial weigh-in on August 16.
Mass Nutrition will hold free boot camps from Coffs Harbour Jetty every fortnight on Saturday mornings
Entries open today and Munro, who was born and raised in Grafton, will be popping into gyms throughout the valley providing information on how people can get involved.
