ENTRIES have closed in Southern Cross University's engineering photo competition and now it's up to you to choose your favourite image.

People from across Australia were invited to enter the competition by submitting photos showing how the built environment complements or supports the natural environment in regional Australia.

The competition is aimed at increasing the community's interest in engineering and the best images will be displayed in the university's engineering building and be used for a 2014 university calendar.

The winning photo will be selected by a panel. However, there is also a "people's choice" section, allowing members of the community to select their favourite images via the university's Facebook page.

The People's Choice award will go to photo with the most Facebook likes and will win an iPad mini for the person who submitted it.

This is the first year Southern Cross University has offered an engineering degree.
