'Average Joe' fan keeps up with tennis star Eugenie Bouchard

EUGENIE Bouchard has spent a third date with John Goehrke in her bikini on a beach in Miami, America.

The Canadian, 23, met up again with student Goehrke, 20, who initially landed a date with the tennis star after winning a bet during this year's NFL Super Bowl in February.

Goehrke obviously made a good impression on the World No. 82 because the Miami sighting is the third time the pair have been spotted together since the Super Bowl.

Bouchard, also a swimwear model, spent around an hour with Goehrke as she relaxed on the beach in a black bikini with gold trim.

It's a sign that perhaps things could now be getting a little more serious between the pair.

The pair "met" on Twitter during the final game of the NFL season. The Atlanta Falcons were up by 25 points late against the New England Patriots and Bouchard was ready to call it.

But Goehrke - then just a random sports fan with a Twitter account - went for the Hail Mary of all Hail Marys by asking the Canadian if she'd go out with him should New England miraculously finish on top.

Long story short, quarterback Tom Brady did what only Tom Brady can and the Pats won 34-28 - and Bouchard stayed true to her word.

For their first date, they went to a basketball game between the Nets and Milwaukee Bucks in New York. Goehrke gave Bouchard a pair of Tiffany earrings and was clearly a hit. When asked by TMZ if there would be a second date Bouchard replied: "For sure."

Her social media activity last week confirmed the second meet-up and the latest pictures suggest Goehrke has remained in the star's good books.

While the tennis ace could be finding love off the court, her life isn't so rosy on it. She has lost in the first round of her last four tournaments.

Bouchard remains the highest ranked Canadian, but her poor form this season has left her ranked 82nd in the world, miles away from her highest ever ranking of World No. 5.

Bouchard has been handed a Hobart International wildcard as she looks to move on from her dismal 2017 campaign. She will contest the Australian Open lead-up tournament in January after she represents Canada at the Hopman Cup.

Bouchard joins top-40 players Elise Mertens, Alize Cornet, Shuai Zhang and Sorana Cirstea in Hobart, where she lost to Cornet in the final last year. Bouchard began the year ranked 46th before a string of poor results, having not won a WTA match since August.

She reached the Australian Open semi-finals in 2014.
