Everybody in the runs as Tucabia mounts pressure

CRCA CRICKET: Tucabia-Copmanhurst shared the spoils all the way down their batting card, declaring at 7- 301 after exposing a lacklustre Westlawn attack on Saturday.

On a balmy afternoon at Ellem Oval, Westlawn struggled to get the breakthroughs as every Tucabia batsman - save for former captain Bob McKenzie (0) - managed to get a start on the flat deck on day one of the clash.

Seasoned campaigner Dan Cootes (75) led from the front for the Tucabia batting stocks, playing his eye in before unleashing on the Westlawn attack after the loss of fellow opener Matt Blanch (11).

Cootes was the fourth wicket to fall, dismissed with the score at 4-147 but the pain did not end there for the Westlawn bowlers as the Tucabia middle-order fired.

Matt Dougherty starred with a measured 45 while vice-captain Brayden Pardoe finished unbeaten on 53.

Pardoe combined with captain Brad Chard for a 45-run stand before the pair walked off the surface with 301 on the board.

Things went from bad to worse for Westlawn when they lost both openers Simon Wilson and Kallen Lawrence cheaply to finish the day on 2-51.

Who will win the 2016/17 CRCA Premier League title?
