Extra $1.3 million available to drought affected

FARMING families suffering in the drought can get more help, after the Federal Government announced an extra $1.3 million to fund counselling and relationship support.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said the extra funding would help drought-affected farmers and their families in New South Wales and Queensland.

The funding will allow nine support services to keep operating in drought areas until June this year.

Among the groups were Centacare Toowoomba and the Roman Catholic Trust in Rockhampton.
