Facebook SOS before teen found by side of road

A PANICKED plea for help posted on Facebook moments before NSW teenager April Lee Gillen was discovered lying on the side of a South Coast road could hold the key to what police are now treating as a deliberate hit and run.

Two days after she was knocked to the ground at Lake Heights, near Wollongong on Sunday, 17-year-old April remains in a critical condition.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported  a post on the teenager's Facebook Page read: "Phones on 1 per cent walking from Warrawong to berks [Berkeley] and some Asian guy just stopped me telling me to come home with him cause it's safe and I need help wtf sos".

Strike Force Ketic has been formed to investigate the incident.
