THE family living in a Scenic Rim home destroyed by fire are safe and well, following a frantic search by authorities who feared they may have been trapped inside.

Fire engulfed the Biddaddaba home, about 45 kilometres west of Surfers Paradise, just after 9am on Wednesday.

It was initally reported three people, a man, woman and child, who lived in the house had not been located.

However about 12.15pm, emergency services confirmed the home's occupants had been located safe.

A firefighter was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital, an ambulance spokeswoman said. His injuries are unknown.
