Star-eyed fan reckons Alex’s kitchen rules!

Alex Ebert from MKR came back to his home town yesterday to meet some of his youngest fans.

The former miner said reality TV, as a whole, was "such a strange experience that was hard to describe".

"I don't feel any different, but turning up to things like this, with people who are waiting to meet me, is pretty crazy," he said.

"I'm pretty excited about all these people that are here to meet me."

Mr Ebert had not been in Mackay since November, but being recognised gave him a strange, but good feeling.

"It's probably just as exciting for them as it is for me," he said.

"I can see that people get excited about it, he said.

One of Alex's fans, Star Davis had been "really excited" to see him, all week.

The eight-year-old said she enjoyed cooking with her Nanny she recently cooked her "hardest food" yet, a Chocolate Mousse Cake.

Next she will make try and make Alex and Gareth's Chocolate Mousse Dome with Cherry Sorbet, next.

I like cooking because it's sometimes creative and there is lots of yummy food to eat, Miss Davis said.

Mr Ebert and his best mate Gareth Cochran are already planning their next adventure.

"One of the biggest goals we had going into the show was win or lose we won't go back to the mines," he said

"I'm not sure if we will open a restaurant or not, because we are considering a food truck or trailer.

Mr Ebert said their first trip could be from Cairns down to Adelaide.
