Farewell to fine reporter Dom

THERE'S a good reason Daily Examiner reporter Dominic Zietsch is known as the paper's Swiss Army knife.

Whenever Dom was thrown a new task to do, he revealed a capacity for handling it with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency.

Whether he was flying as section editor Lesley Apps's wingman, tacking projects as diverse as Clarence Life and the school news or tackling the arcane world of the sports department, nothing was too much trouble or too difficult.

But it would be wrong to see Dom as some sort of journalistic automaton.

Over the years his passion for family, amateur dramatics, popular music and electronic gaming revealed itself - mainly through stories he volunteered for the paper.

Today he leaves us and we will miss him for the good friend he has become to all of us.
