AN ARETHA Franklin classic wasn't enough to save girl group Adria-Belle from elimination on The X Factor last night.

The teen four-piece chose to sing their favourite song Chain of Fools after landing in the bottom two with Barry Southgate for their less than diva-like rendition of Beyonce's Run The World (Girls) on Sunday's first live show.

"That song we wanted to do the song for our first audition, either that or (Adele's) Rumour Has It," band member Temy, 17, told APN.

"We wanted a chance on the show to sing that song, and I guess yesterday was the night."

Temy said she hoped Monday's live performance showed the fierce foursome have light and shade in their voices.

"We were very happy about our performance," she said.

"We definitely got to show that we can sing. A lot of people were doubting our vocal ability, but that's why we're on the show and made it that far."

She said the group plans to forge ahead with a music career.

"We're definitely going to get straight into it; we're so hungry for this," Temy said.

"Natalie (Bassingthwaighte, coach) came and talked to us last night.

"She said she believes in us and believes something amazing is going to come of us. We're grateful for her support."

Temy is backing another group to win this year's show, but they will face some stiff competition from current bookie's favourite, 14-year-old Jai Waetford.

"I love Dami's (Im) voice, but personally for the girls and I we want a group to win," she said.

"We are team Nat, even though we're not on the show anymore. We want a group to win."

The X Factor airs Sundays at 6.30pm and Mondays at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
