Fire causes extensive damage to Grafton house

Fire has caused extensive damage to a home in Fanning Avenue, Grafton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The fire in the two-storey weatherboard home was seen by neighbours at around 12:30am and fire crews extinguished the blaze shortly after.

Noone was injured in the fire, with the occupants of the home being away at the time.

Inspector Tony Milner said that police had established a crime scene at the residence, with forensic services officers examining the house later that morning.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze are continuing.
