Fire destroys South Grafton home, treated as suspicious

POLICE are treating a fire which has destroyed a house in South Grafton as suspicious.

Emergency services rushed to the house on Maleluca Wy after receiving a call at about 12.30am yesterday.

By the time police arrived, the house was reportedly well alight with the roof caving in.

NSW Fire and Rescue had extinguished the fire by 2am but the house, understood to be a NSW Department of Housing dwelling, was completely destroyed.

Grafton Police Inspector Tony Milner said at this early stage of investigation, the incident was being treated as suspicious and a number of inquiries were being made.
