Five seek showgirl sash

LIVING life to the fullest is something Rachael Wren hopes to do every day.

The aim has led her to do something out of the ordinary and nominate for the Maclean Showgirl quest, taking the number of entrants to five.

“I have had some medical issues in the past so I try to live every day like it is my last,” she said yesterday.

“I am a member of the Maclean Show and I am looking forward to taking my involvement to the next level,” Rachael said.

The 19-year-old, through entering the quest, hopes to get a confidence boost.

“I really see it as a once in a lifetime experience, so I can’t wait for the show (April 27-28). I think it will be great to see a side of the show not many people get to experience,” she said.

Rachael has spent her whole life in the Clarence Valley and attended Maclean High School. She has just secured a full-time position at Sparr Supermarket in Maclean.

She is living on a cane farm and loves being able to get away from everything in town.

“I really love the Clarence Valley and have never left for any extended period of time,” she said.

“I just got my full-time job so I am not really sure where I want to be in the future,” she said.
