FLICKERFEST 2016: Making short work of it
FLICKERFEST, Australia's leading Academy Accredited and BAFTA-recognised short film festival, will be back in Grafton at the Saraton Theatre on Friday, April 1.
The tour to Grafton showcases the Best of Australian Shorts program, featuring the hottest short films from the Australian competition at this year's festival and a range of wonderful new short films.
Highlights of the program include Nan and a Whole Lot of Trouble, which tackles cultural taboos with warmth and humour, shot locally on the Northern Rivers in Lismore, Tullera and Wardell.
Lois Randall, producer of Nan and a Whole Lot of Trouble, will be in attendance to introduce the film on the night.
Also screening is the newest film by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Adam Elliot, Ernie Biscuit. This animation follows a deaf taxidermist whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of a dead pigeon.
And don't miss the very funny Slingshot, this year's Flickerfest winner of the Academy Accredited Virgin Australia Award for Best Australian Short Film.
