Ulmarra Cup winner aimed for July Carnival

After starting a $3.80 favourite, John Shelton's charge sat on the heels of Who This in the 1625m Benchmark 55 Handicap event before powering home to win by 3.5 lengths.

Sentimental favourite Geecup ($12), trained by Ulmarra's Todd Fletcher, ran down Who This ($5.50) to finish runner-up in the Cup for the second year in a row.

"Plenty of people were happy after that," Shelton said. "It was a pretty popular win. The Ulmarra people really put on a good day."
