UPDATE: Three cars damaged in Pac Hwy crash, sparked fire

UPDATE, 1pm: A FORD Falcon heading north on the Pacific Highway has collided with oncoming traffic when it veered onto the wrong side of the road just after 12.30pm today.

The car hit a white Captiva, before losing a tyre which rolled off into the bush sparking a fire in dry grass.

More debris from the collision hit a third vehicle, a Landcruiser, which caused a flat tyre.

It is believed no one received serious injuries but the driver of the Falcon was taken to the Grafton base Hospital for drug and alcohol testing. It is unknown why the Falcon veered into the opposite lane.

The road is open in both directions and the fire is under control.

12.40pm: WE HAVE received reports of a four car crash at the corner of the Pacific Highway and Centenary Drive, near Glenugie.

Initial reports are that no one is trapped, however a fire has stared in bushland nearby.

A reporter is headed to the scene now.

More as it comes to hand.
