Four people die in horror crash

FOUR friends have died in a horror car crash in south-west NSW.

Police were called to Hurley Street at Cootamundra just after 1am on Saturday night where a car had crashed into a tree and erupted in flames.

Three men and a woman, believed to be aged between 17 and 24, died in the inferno.

Cootamundra Police Superintendent Peter Wanczura told reporters the crash was the worst he had seen in his 34 years in the police force.
