Franklin ready to rumble for the Swans

AFL: Lance Franklin is set to play his first game of the year when the Swans take on Sydney rival GWS in Blacktown Friday night.

Franklin, who is on the recovery trail after post-season shoulder surgery, heads an impressive squad for last year's grand finalists, with Heath Grundy, Dane Rampe, Jake Lloyd and Dean Towers all included.

The Swans have also named three ruckmen - Naismith, Callum Sinclair and draftee Darcy Cameron.

There are also some big-name inclusions for Carlton and Collingwood as they take on St Kilda and Fremantle respectively in the JLT Community Series.

Patrick Cripps will face the Saints for the Blues Saturday at Ikon Park, while the Magpies have named a strong 22, with Scott Pendlebury, Adam Treloar, Brodie Grundy and Taylor Adams all set to face the Dockers in Mandurah, south of Perth, also Saturday.

Jamie Elliott is still on the sidelines with an ankle problem while Kangaroos recruit Daniel Wells will also miss out.

The Dockers have brought in ruckman Aaron Sandilands, who has recovered from a minor calf injury.

Lachie Neale has also been named for his first pre-season game.
