THERE is no such thing as a free lunch, but there is such a thing as a free breakfast on Jacaranda Thursday.

The cue for a free bacon egg roll or sausage sandwhich looped around Market Square today. Self proclaimed professional sausage sizzler Ron Young said they moved 3751 sausages on top of bacon, eggs, juice, fruit and milk.

"It's fabulous, it's always a great morning," Mr Young said.

"Holiday Coast meats provided the sausages, Big River Milk provided the milk, Farmer Lou's provided the fruit and the eggs were supplied by a lot of chickens."

Mr Young said his team manned the barbeques at 6am and worked there fingers to the bone.

"I worked that hard I put a hole in my glove," he said.

"We do it for the community. Look at all the happy faces, not a sad one there."

Festival goer Dot Rankin said she was hoping to have a great day and started it with the free breakfast.

"The breakfast is running out," Mrs Rankin said.

"We have just started and we hope to have a great day."
