Free short filmmaking workshops on offer

DO YOU have a short story to tell about surfing or Aboriginal culture?

If so, you might be in luck.

They happen to be the themes for the 2015 Coldstream Short Film Festival.

While entries are now closed, the event's organisers are on the hunt for show reels to be shared on Facebook.

To encourage people to share their videos, a free video-making workshop will be held at Irons and Craig Cafe in Yamba from 7.30-8.30am tomorrow.

Local award winning short film maker Debrah Novak will be available to teach anyone aged over 13-years-old how to use their iPhones to create a one-minute video.

"When they feel they have something good we want them to then upload their video to their Facebook site and hashtag #surfingthecoldstream," she said.

"We will then share the video stories as a promo for the short film festival."

If you would like to book in for the workshop phone Debrah Novak on 0402404606 or email dnovak@phonestar.net.au.
