Fuelling the local aroma
DOING things locally is what Danny Young is all about.
That is why he has kept Espresso Botero as local as possible, while sending his wares all across the country from the Maclean warehouse.
It is also why he is on board with the Causley Fresh Gate to Plate as a bronze sponsor, and has been since 2008.
From the Maclean business Danny provides everything you may need to get that perfect pour of coffee, and he is even willing to pass on a bit of knowledge.
Just all part of the friendly service.
In the shop, they sell domestic and commercial coffee making equipment, promotional items, and their very own blend made with coffee beans from Papua New Guinea, South Africa and Central America.
"The equipment and machines sales business is good," Danny said.
"Very few people specialise in espresso equipment.
"You can't do a course in it, you have to learn as you go."
He also roasts his own beans on site, which is done in a lounge room-size machine imported from Italy that required a two-man strong instillation team to set it up and demonstrate the various functions of the finely tuned controls which are adjusted according to how many beans you want to roast and the intensity of the end result.
The massive machine, which is capable of roasting up to a tonne of coffee beans a day, is one of the most consistent roasters on the market, ensuring a stable and tasty blend of the finest beans.
"You can't get a top quality coffee from poor quality beans. People have tried it and it just doesn't work, no matter how good of a roaster you are," Danny said.
