Fuller leads Ladies May Tournament at halfway stage

GRAFTON junior Courtney Fuller has shot to the lead at the halfway stage of the 52nd Annual Grafton Ladies May Tournament at Grafton District Golf Club today.

Fuller fired a round of 83 to carry the outright lead in a difficult day for the ladies who struggled to contend with some extremely tricky pin placements and heavy conditions.

Defending champion Sue Reguson currently sits in second place on 85 while the quartet of Jodie Rockliff, Nicole Pearson, Ada Lynch and Kay Nash are all tied on 88 with 18 holes remaining to decide the championship.

Three players currently share the lead in the net competition - Ros Sadler, Debra Tennant and Kim Lipscombe.

Mother and daughter combination Jean Dahl and Sue Reguson were the gross winners with 29 points in the 2BBB event which kicked off the tournament on Wednesday. Lyn Dahl and Enid Dougherty won the stableford component with 42 points to be awarded the Commonwealth Bank Cup.

The tournament wraps up on Saturday with the 18-hole Mixed American Foursomes.
