Fundraiser will help family of little Sebastian

THE Clarence Valley Community has the chance to come to the aid of a five-year-old boy battling critical head injuries in a Brisbane hospital.

Family and friends of Sebastian McLachlan, who was injured when he fell from the second storey of his Blanch Pde home last Thursday night, have announced they will run a fund-raising evening at the Village Green Hotel on May 15.

Staff at Goldmark Jewellery in Grafton Shoppingworld, where the boy's aunt Vashti Sheather works, have decided to put on a fundraising dinner for 150 people at the hotel.

Organiser Janita Cooper said she already had some items to use for fundraising.

"The hotel has given us nine vouchers: four $50 vouchers and five at $20 and we've got a watch from Goldmark," she said.

Mrs Cooper said the organisers will run a big raffle in the lead-up to the dinner as well as other fundraisers on the night.

She said the McLachlan family will need all the help they can get as their little boy begins his rehabilitation.

"Whatever happens with him it's going to be a long, drawn out and costly process," she said.

Mrs Cooper said the price of the tickets to the dinner are non-refundable.
