Game of Thrones: Has Melisandre now redeemed herself?

*warning: spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Game of Thrones S6 E2*

Melisandre has always been a dark, antagonist, for as long as she has existed in the Game of Thrones universe.

She appeared as a witch, promised Stannis Baratheon the Iron Throne and committed largely unforgivable actions in the pursuit of his victories, which she said she saw in the flames.

A follower of R'hllor, the Lord of Light, Melisandre's greatest (worst) moment came in the fifth season when she convinced Stannis to sacrifice daughter Shireen.

Melisandre was remorseless as she watched the young girl tied to a pyre, then burned alive, and was up with (former) King Joffrey and psychotic bastard Ramsay Bolton as the show's least favourite characters.

She may well have found her way back into the audiences' good books after she not only expressed remorse for previous actions, but performed the one deed the world waited for.

After some convincing by Davos, Jon Snow was resurrected courtesy of Melisandre's magic.

In what shape Snow will be is yet to be answered after the last episode's celebrated final scene, but the fact she brought the Lord Commander back from the dead is one that won't be forgotten.

Where she goes now is anyone's guess.

She revealed her true form in the explosive season-opener, exposing a body that has lived for centuries, and was clearly wrong in her advisory role to Stannis - so wrong it led the Lord of Dragonstone to his death.

Davos' trust and Snow's resurrection may help Melisandre again see the light, but it may be hard for many others to trust her judgment.
