Gear up for Coldstream festival

FREE Surfing the Coldstream T-shirts will be given away this Sunday at the Yamba River Community Markets to anyone who registers to volunteer at either the markets or this year’s festival in August.

Live Prawn Productions chairperson Debrah Novak said the T-shirts were left over from their three previous festivals.

“Live Prawn Productions Inc highly values the role volunteers play in our organisation and without them we wouldn’t have the festival or the markets,” she said.

“We have about 200 T-shirts in different colours, styles and sizes to give away to our new volunteers, but I suggest they be quick.

“We are starting our volunteer campaign earlier so that we can provide quality training to our volunteers prior to the event.

“This year’s festival promises to be very different to previous ones. While it will retain a similar flavour, a little more spice will be added,” Ms Novak said.

The production company is also looking for expressions of interest from artists wanting to perform at the markets and festival.

Ms Novak said the committee would love to see as many performers as possible register this Sunday so it had a database to draw on.

Live Prawn Productions Inc is in changeover mode, with incumbent market coordinator Dom Ferry leaving the position after this week and the new coordinator stepping in from February.
