Geitz's Diamonds beat Trinidad and Tobago in World Cup

LAURA Geitz and the Australian Diamonds beat Trinidad and Tobago 73-32 in a late Friday night game at the Netball World Cup in Sydney.

Geitz is originally from Allora in South Queensland and is one of three Queensland Firebirds in the Australian team.

The win is the 20th in succession under the captaincy of Geitz as the Diamonds chase some long-standing records on successive wins.

Her teammate from the Firebirds Kim Ravaillion made her international debut in the cup game.

It was a game the Australians were expected to win easily and everything went to script.

In fact the likely top-four all had good wins, New Zealand 73-28 against Barbados, England 60-19 against Scotland, and Jamaica 90-44 against Samoa.

Australia will play Barbados today (Saturday) and New Zealand tomorrow.
