Genia regrets letting down Pocock
WILL Genia said his only twinge of regret about staying with the Queensland Reds was letting down Wallaby team-mate and Western Force flanker David Pocock.
After initially verbally agreeing to move to the Western Force in a $550,000-plus move at the end of the current season, Genia decided to stay with the Reds on a three-year deal.
He indicated the Force offer was financially greater but Genia felt he would be happier staying at the Reds.
However, the scrum-half admitted to feeling guilty about letting down Pocock who is only under contract with the Force until the end of the season.
Pocock is believed to be on the verge of re-signing with the Force and the lure of playing with Genia in Perth could have sealed the deal.
