Get down to Jaca Rodeo – no bull

SHINE up your old boots, chuck on your favourite pair of jeans and dig out your Akubra if you've got one.

The Jacaranda Rodeo is back and the bulls will be bucking from 6.30pm tonight Saturday night.

The rodeo is at the Grafton Showground, with Open Bull, Novice Bull and Steer rides on the agenda.

The infamous Hot Shot is the feature bull for the rodeo, and inner-show ring seating gets spectators up close to the action.

The steer rides are divided into junior, juvenile and poddy classes, and kids over the age of eight can compete.

There'll be music and entertainment on the night, as well as a full bar and catering.Kevin Cooper's miniature bucking ponies will also put on a show.

Grafton Show Society secretary Sue Patricks said she was looking forward to the rodeo, and was crossing her fingers for good weather.

"It's great to see the crowd coming into the Showground after the floats," Mrs Patricks said.

"It's a real buzz."

Gates open from 5.30pm, with action from 6.30pm.
