Get ready to have a ball this Jacaranda Festival

THE Jacaranda trees have started to bloom slowly and this can mean only one thing; the Jacaranda Festival is almost upon us.

The official opening event of the Jacaranda Festival is the Jacaranda Ball and it is just around the corner. There is currently much planning going on and I'm sure the girl's excitement would be building and they would be trying to find that perfect ball dress and nervous to make sure they ace the pride of erin dance - well, maybe that their partners ace it.

The Gateway Lifestyle Jacaranda Ball is an open community event, as all of the Jacaranda events are, and this year will be held on Friday October 30 at the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club. This year we will be having a theme of Black Tie and Diamonds. We will kick of the night at 6pm with pre-drinks and canapés overlooking the beautiful sunset on the mighty Clarence. I would like to encourage everyone, part of the community or visitor, to come along and enjoy the event. The night will be grand with Grafton being so lucky we have the Royal Australian Navy Band joining us again to entertain everyone, which last year was amazing with everyone up and dancing and enjoying themselves. There will be amazing food and plenty of laughter.

Purchasing tickets prior to the night is a must and are available now from any of our Jacaranda candidates, both junior and senior, or directly from the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club. Tickets are $55 an adult and $30 a child. The South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club will be operating their courtesy bus which will be available to drop off and pick up at any time; all you need to do is ring the club and book your spot.
