Get your local business on to new phone app
WHETHER you are looking for a place to eat, an event or even the nearest public toilet; it can all be found in the one place.
The rollout of smartphone app go2 GUIDES has begun in the Clarence Valley, with local businesses jumping onboard in droves to advertise their services in Grafton, Maclean, Yamba and beyond.
The region is the first place in the Northern Rivers to localise the app, which was originally released in Goulburn two years ago, thanks to the partnership of the local chamber of commence.
Driving force Maclean Chamber of Commerce president John Riggall said the technology was an exciting thing to be a part of, and would help visitors and residents get better acquainted with the region in a new way.
"Even an antique person like me can use it," he laughed.
"We now download books on Kindle, newspapers are going online; this is where society's heading, so this is just keeping up with where society's going.
"Who now uses a Refidex to find a place in Brisbane? You use smartphone or GPS; the technology's moving that fast." The app itself has a number of benefits for locals and businesses alike, with opportunities to advertise special deals and events to a broad audience.
"Get on, watch it and watch it grow - it's exciting," Mr Riggall said.
Go2 GUIDES is available to download now for Android and iPhone systems.
FREE androids will be given away over the next couple of months as part of a local go2 GUIDES promotion.
