PREPARATIONS are well underway for Sunday's Group 2 major semi-finals at Frank McGuren Field.

Grafton Ghosts earned the week off in first grade after they won the minor premiership, and will host Coffs Comets for a place in the August 24 decider.

The winner also earns the right to host the grand final.

The Comets finished level on points but second on for-and-against, and beat Woolgoolga Seahorses 62-18 to qualify for Sunday's game.

Captain-coach Ryan Farrell said his side was ready for the challenge.

"We trained really hard on Tuesday, had a run last night and we'll have another light run on Saturday morning," Farrell said.

"There's a few niggling injuries around but nothing to be worried about so far."

The Ghosts will meet Coffs in reserve grade with Macksville Sea Eagles to play Sawtell Panthers in under-18s.

South Grafton Rebels will contest the U18 minor semi-final tomorrow against Woolgoolga at Woolgoolga Sports Ground.

The Rebels were beaten convincingly by Sawtell last week, and will need to be at their best to keep their season alive.

The Seahorses face Sawtell in the first grade minor semi-final with the Panthers to face Macksville in reserve grade.

U18s kickoff at 11.30am on both days.
