Gold medals galore at branch titles

FNC BRANCH: A small but mighty team of Yamba Nippers came away with outstanding results from the Far North Coast Branch Surf Life Saving Titles at Cudgen.

Kalani Ives brought home four gold in Under-11 girls, winning surf swim, boards, ironwoman and flags.

In U14 boys Jorden Elabbasi won gold in the surf race. He also came 3rd in the board and ironman, and teamed up with other clubs to place 2nd in board relay and 3rd in board rescue.

The other gold came from Yamba's U11 team of Lilly Young, Kalani Ives, Yasmin Elabbasi and Malik Elabassi in the surf team event. The foursome also won bronze in the Cameron relay and 5th in the beach sprint relay.

Kalani, Malik and Yasmin teamed up to win bronze in the board relay. In the board rescue event, Kalani and Yasmin placed 4th and Malik and Lily 6th.

Malik also placed 2nd in the surf swim and 6th in the ironman, while Lily placed 5th in surf swim and 6th in ironwoman and Yasmin Elabbasi was 3rd in surf swim, 4th in the board race and 6th in flags.

Carissa Miltiadou (U12) achieved great results in all events placing 2nd in surf swim, 4th in boards, 3rd in ironwoman, 4th in flags and 5th in beach sprints. Meanwhile, Logan Miltiadou (U9) competed well in beach sprints, flags and board race with his trademark grin.

Ben Morris (U10) brought home a silver medal in the beach sprints. Josh Morris (U13) won silver in flags and 4th in beach sprints.
