Golden girls shine at Saraton

GRAFTON’S golden girls, the McClymont sisters, shared stories and blew away a sell-out Saraton Theatre with a sensational performance at the renovated venue’s first live gig on Saturday night.

This year’s Golden Guitar winners for Best Group were as thrilled as the crowd with the opportunity to come home and perform.

Supported by the Best New Talent winners at the 2011 Golden Guitars, McAlister Kemp, for Brooke, Samantha and Mollie entertaining their hometown crowd was special.

Although they have played at venues all over the world, the girls used Facebook to share their excitement about being the first live act to play at the renovated Saraton.

“Hometown gig in Grafton tonight. First live act to play in the newly renovated Saraton theatres,” their post said.

“Absolutely stunning venue, a sold out crowd, couldn’t ask for more!”

The word around town yesterday about the show: “It was awesome."
