Golden Rules: The councils list of not to be flushed

FOLLOWING an increase in the amount of sewerage blockages in the Clarence Valley, the Council has been ensuring residents maintain a knowledge of how to utilise their toilets properly. 

The following is the Clarence Valley Council's list of what should not be flushed down your porcelain throne.   

• Cooking oils or fats

• Glass

• Metal

• Gravel/Sand etc

• Seafood Shells

• Aquarium Gravel • Nappies

• Sanitary Napkin / Tampons

• Kitty Litter

• Explosives

• Plastic Objects

• Socks • Rags

• Clothes

• Flammable Materials

• Lubricating Oils / Grease

• Strong Chemicals

• Petrol

• Diesel

• Paints (water or oil based)

• Salt water

• storm water,

• Chemicals other than those used in normal domestic products (dishwasher liquid, detergents, hair dyes, etc).
