GP settles down in heartbeat
IT didn’t take long for one of the latest additions to the Clarence Valley medical fraternity to settle in.
Just weeks after arriving from Queensland with his family, the new doctor at the Queen Street Medical Centre in Grafton, Sander Vandervlist, has bought a home and is ready to move in.
Dr Vandervlist was born in the Netherlands and moved to Australia in 2006.
Since then he has worked at the coastal village of Sarina, south of Mackay, and recently as a locum in NSW.
His family chose Grafton largely because of its proximity to coastal national parks.
“It’s not too big and not too crowded,” he said.
“I am very happy with it here.”
His wife and two young children, aged three and 15 months, have moved here with him.
