Grafton Relay for Life just two weeks away

WITH just two over a week until the 2016 Grafton Relay for Life, the city is ready to take the fundraising baton.

The overnight event will start at 3pm on Saturday, March 19 at Jabour Park, South Grafton.

As a community-funded organisation, Cancer Council NSW relies upon events such as the relay to fund research, programs and services on a local and state level.

"Despite having the broadest reach of any cancer organisation in NSW, Cancer Council recognises the importance of working with and within local communities to ensure our services and programs are tailored to their needs" said Rowena Terone, Community Engagement Manager - Cancer Council NSW.

"The Grafton community emphasised the need for free transport to treatment and accessible accommodation.

"Our partnership with Clarence Valley Community Transport ensures this is now possible through free transport for eligible patients be it to Coffs Harbour, Lismore or as far as Brisbane, and our $500,000 investment into the establishment of the Our House Accommodation Facility continues to service the Clarence Valley community with up to 40% of guests at the facility residing from the local area."
