54th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic officially launched

PREPARATIONS for the 54th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic are officially underway.

The 54th instalment of the annual 228km premier road race will be held on Saturday, October 25.

Organisers unveiled a new finish line, which marks just the third change since the Classic started in 1961.

This year's finishing straight will be in Vivian Street adjacent to Victoria Park due to plans to upgrade the Inverell CBD.

The park will provide for more relaxed spectator viewing and the opportunity for more family-oriented pre-race entertainment.

McDonalds will again sponsor A grade, Skybridge Financial is the major sponsor of B Grade and the Inverell RSM Club has continued its relationship with the race in C Grade.

First time supporters Laser Electrical will be B grade King of the Mountain sponsor, and former International cyclist Scott Sunderland will return as Race Director.

The 2014 Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic will be the final round of the Subaru National Road Series.
