Grafton wedding expo pulls good crowd

GRAFTON'S first wedding expo in years has proved an outstanding success with an estimated 800 walking through the gates at Grafton racecourse yesterday.

One of the organisers, Terry Deefholts, said that the exhibitors who had travelled from throughout the North Coast all were happy with the inquiry they received and many had already discussed bookings for next year.

“It was also nice that we also raised $1200 for the children's ward at Grafton Base Hospital from the gold coin admission,” he said.

“It's always a bit of a risk when you put something like this on, but the response we have already received proved it was a winner.

“We will have a debrief with all our exhibitors and if the feedback is as strong as we expect then the expo may well become an annual event.”
