Gunners off target but still earn a draw

ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger rued missed opportunities after the EPL leaders were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal led through a Mesut Ozil goal but the visitors equalised through Gerard Deulofeu to deny the Gunners a seven-point lead.

Olivier Giroud (pictured) hit the bar with a great strike in stoppage time, one of a number of chances.

In yesterday's other EPL game, Fulham ended a run of seven consecutive defeats by beating Aston Villa 2-0 to give new head coach Rene Meulensteen his first win.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will play north London rivals Spurs in the third round of the FA Cup.

Manchester United will host Swansea City at Old Trafford, while Norwich entertains Fulham. Holder Wigan is at home to Milton Keynes Dons, while in other all-EPL ties West Brom will play Crystal Palace and Cardiff travels to Newcastle.
